Four County Electric Membership Corporation was established in 1937 by a group of community leaders working together to bring electricity to the rural areas. The first lines were built in 1938 with a loan from the U.S. Rural Electrification Administration. Today, more than 5,400 miles of overhead, underground, and transmission lines provide reliable electric service to over 30,000 consumer accounts which include residences, farms, businesses, industries, churches, and schools.

Four County Electric is a not-for-profit electric Cooperative owned by the people it serves. As a hometown utility, Four County is committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable energy to its more than 31,000 commercial and residential member-owners in six North Carolina counties, including Bladen, Duplin, Pender, Sampson, Columbus and Onslow counties.

Operation Round Up

With Operation Round Up, your spare change can help to make a tremendous difference in the lives of those who need help within our community. Help us to help others by participating in our Care Round Up program. By signing up, your electric bill is ‘rounded up’ to the next highest whole dollar amount. For instance, if your actual electric bill is $83.87, it will be rounded up to $84. The additional 13 cents provides monetary assistance for various charitable and non-profit organizations.

Average contributions are only about $6 per year, and never exceed 99 cents in a single month. Individually, the amount contributed to Operation Round Up may not seem significant, but put this change together and it can go a long way in making a difference within our community.
